This is a great way to spend a quiet afternoon among superbly manicure flora and fauna, some native to the area and many imported to give this park several splashes of color and beauty that is expertly manicured, obviously, by a team that absolutely loves what they do, and this garden. I've been to a bunch of different gardens around the country, and while the Wichita Botanical Garden may not be the biggest, it is certainly among the best in design and impact per square foot. Every inch of this place has been carefully thought through and planned by someone who clearly knows how to make the most of an outdoor space. There are several water effects that include babbling brooks that feed into several coy ponds, open water ponds that are home to a variety of water flowers, including three different color lilly pad flowers. Small bronze statues of wondrous children and animals dot the paths and on the daily I went, there were several dinosaur exhibits. There's too much to talk about on this small review, like the many gazebos, and comfortable benches that are tucked away in little hidden sanctuaries off the path to sit, watch, and just enjoy the bustling wildlife and blossoming beauty. Before you go, don't forget to stop by the Japanese garden on the other side of the administrative building. If you miss that you'll be sorry that you missed one of the most beautiful stops in the park. The price of admission is nominal, and just so happened to be free for me as an Army veteran on this particular day, but normally entrance in around $15 for adults, more than worth it for a beautiful afternoon. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy.

This is my first time coming here. I decided to bring my 5yr old and my 7 month old. We had such a great time!! There are water fountains for the kids to splash in. There is a huge tree house. There are musical instruments for the kids to play on. There are little houses with diffrent things in .. like 1 was I spy, and the other was a bee learning one. Oh and best of all there was a butterfly house where you could go in and see diffrent types and learn about them. The eating area was nice and it was near a water fountain that flows over the side into the grates so if the kids aren't careful they will get wet. The amount of diffrent plants and trees and bushes is quite breathtaking. There spots are well thought out. You can bring your own drinks and food to have an afternoon lunch if you please. There is also a huge indoor carousel that is only 3.00. There is a few koi ponds, the largest one is right at the start. And they sell food pouches for .50 a piece. There is a gift shop. A library area/cafe. We weren't even able to get through everything.

Went for the first time while visiting my daughters for Easter during the Tulip Festival. Was very beautiful. A little disappointing that extra attractions were closed, no food or drinks, no bees and the website said they were starting extended hours. The day before (Friday) apparently were open until 8pm but when we showed up on Saturday around 3pm they didn't say a word about closing at 5pm. We didn't make it to the butterfly exhibit or a few other paths as the security were making sure we knew we had to leave in 5 min as they were locking up (5 min to 5). They were definitely sticklers on this and it was very unnerving and I thought it was kind of rude. Restaurants don't kick you out if you aren't finished eating at closing time. They should've informed us of closing time when we arrived with less than 2hrs left. I had promised my daughter we'd visit the gift shop when finished but it was also locked up. I just think there are better ways to handle these things.
