This waterfall has a combination of attractions. It's an all paved drive, the trail starts right on the hwy, the hike is short to the main waterfall, but there are LOTS of other things to see if you explore some. There's an additional waterfall you'll pass on the trail to Highbank Twin. That side falls has several more falls above it if you climb on up beside it. Also, if you REALLY wanna explore, there are two more twin falls (that you can't see from below) above Highbank Twin Falls. Things to know: Parking is not officially designated for this trail. There's a driveway and some space off hwy215 right across from the trailhead or you can park at the Highbank Canoe Access just west of the trailhead. The trailhead is on the north side of hwy215 at the edge of a guard rail. The trail is clearly visible all the way and it's very short. It is slick and rocky on the back half. This waterfall is very wet-weather dependant and is best seen when the ground is saturated AND there's been rain in the last couple days as well. There won't be water at this location in the dead of summer. These pictures were taken when the Mulberry River (right across the hwy from these falls) was at high flood stage at the...
Read moreNot a clearly marked place to park, and there was torn down caution tape across what we assumed was the trailhead. The trail is not marked at all, other than what appears to be a trail through the woods. We found a small waterfall on the way back that was very pretty, but just enough water flowing to sound tranquil, even though there was a ton of rain the day before. We made it back to the High Bank wall and though it was beautiful, there was just a trickle on both sides. It was 65 degrees out and a little windy so the hike was very nice. The colors in the trees and on the ground were definitely worth the hike back. Wish we could've seen more water falling, but that's just our luck lately...
Read moreTrail head to falls was fairly easy to find . As the trail progressed up to the falls it became more and more difficult to walk on. I don't know if I would recommend this hike for parents with young children or elderly or anyone with walking issues. Its about 200-400 yard hike to the falls from the road. And the trail winds around quite bit. It was a very scenic walk thru mature forest to the falls. The falls - There are two falls right next to each other were flowing but not a lot of water was coming over them.. So if you do this hike make sure it has rained within a few days...
