My adventure with Swamp Fever Airboat Adventures was an absolute thrill from start to finish. Booking tickets online was a breeze, offering a range of dates and times for the tour, allowing for flexibility in planning. What caught my attention right away was the reasonable pricing, unlike some other places that tend to overcharge for similar experiences while compensating with subpar freebies. Here, the focus was on the genuine adventure itself, not on unnecessary add-ons.
Our tour guide was an absolute gem—funny, knowledgeable, and brimming with insights about the wildlife and the surrounding area. They made the journey not just entertaining but educational, providing fascinating information about the wildlife we were about to encounter. The combination of thrilling boat driving skills and serene "back in the woods" views created an unforgettable experience.
Speaking of wildlife, the sightings were beyond expectations! Small alligators in their natural habitat and young bald eagles soaring overhead added to the excitement. The hour-long boat ride was just the right duration, offering ample time to observe and capture the beauty of the wildlife. The engine noise was managed well, and the provision of ear protection was a thoughtful touch for those sensitive to louder sounds.
For photography enthusiasts like myself, this tour was a dream. The variety of sights and experiences made it a haven for capturing stunning videos and pictures. And to top it off, the convenience of an onsite food truck was a fantastic bonus. If you happened to miss lunch or just needed a snack to refuel, it was right there at your fingertips.
Overall, Swamp Fever Airboat Adventures exceeded my expectations. From the effortless online ticketing to the incredible sights and experiences during the tour, it was a well-rounded and memorable adventure. I'd highly recommend this to anyone seeking an exhilarating yet informative experience amidst nature's wonders. Don't forget your camera—there's a world of photo opportunities...
Read moreIf you have the opportunity to go on this airboat tour, do yourself the favor of doing so. This group runs a tour into an absolutely gorgeous swamp area filled with natural beauty and tons of birds. I do not think our pictures capture the beauty as well as the videos.
When we came on the tour, the water was exceptionally high, and since gators are primarily interested in hiding, eating and exploring new territories, they were likely farther inland. So, we were very fortunate that Kyle located a baby at the edge for us to see. (Pic below)
Kyle imparted some area specific history and explained the area to us when we stopped.
But no worries, Jessica and her family have several farm raised gators and we all had the opportunity to meet and hold Gary, a five year old gator. These are captive, farm-raised gators, who the family will care for their entire life. Her respect and love for the animals is quite apparent. She carefully explains to you how you’ll hold the gator, gently give him to you and monitors him while he’s being held.
It was a wonderful experience overall, and we were very fortunate to have a gentleman aboard our tour that had family from Florida, who added a ton more of local color to the tour.
It was a very pleasurable ride. The tour provides you with headphones for noise dampening. The seating is comfortable. You can see from any row. It was a very comfortable temperature, as the boat creates wind. There were very few instances where we felt hot on our 9am tour. And we came across few bugs, which surprised and delighted us.
I would suggest sunscreen, as large portions of the trip are in full sun, until you are in the deeper...
Read moreAmazing experience! The airboat trip was awesome. We brought our family of 6 (kids ages 17 - 8) aboard The Swamp Thang with Captain Steve as our tour guide. He was a fantastic tour guide. He had the whole family laughing from start to finish. He was very knowledgeable of the area and wildlife. As we weaved through the panasoffkee lake everglades, Captain Steve educated us on all the plants and birds and of course alligators. We saw multiple alligators of different sizes, turtles, bald eagles and many more native species. We got to see a 2000 year old tree and fresh water springs along the way. The air boat was an awesome ride . Gliding through swamp lands and racing across open water at high speeds. This tour made our family vacation memorable. The photograph with Josephine at the end was the cherry on top. The gift shop was very authentic and you should grab a unique souvenir before leaving. The staff was super friendly and seem to love what they are doing, educated people about Florida's native environment and the animals in it. This tour is a MUST when you are in Florida. Thank you for an amazing time!! We will definitely be doing this again and recommending Swamp Fever Airboat Tours and Captain Steve...
