Stopped here, as you do, on a road trip to relieve nature. We travel with our puppies, and the one thing that was a bit annoying here is both sides of the building itself had massive picnic areas with large "NO PETS" signs and the pet areas were relegated to the far reaches of the area. Having pet areas closer to, you know, the facilities everyone stops for, would be more beneficial.
That being said, the facilities themselves were relatively clean for a rest area. They had a good selection of vending machines inside, but half of them didn't take cards or tap-to-pay. Either that, or that function just wasn't working. But, that seems to be standard at most rest areas, anyway.
Plenty of parking and lighting, though. Reasonably nice place to stop if the need...
Read moreAn individual, claiming to be an inspector, male, was standing in the entry foyer of the bathrooms. I stated, as I was entering the ladies, that he was standing in a weird spot. While using the facility I overheard him state that I had insulted him and repeated what I said about standing in a weird place. I exited the ladies, he was still standing in the same place and I again stated he was standing in a weird place. His proximity to the specific ladies side of the facility made me very uncomfortable. Read moreWelcome to Kentucky, as you cross over from Tennessee on I-75. This rest area is directly off the highway and on a rainy morning, a nice break from driving. The parking lot was just about empty while I was here.
My main problem with this rest stop is that it's straight in from the highway. Very little curve to slow people down so cars will come in at somewhat close to highway speed.
Restrooms were clean, the parking lot is level and there's plenty of Kentucky information. I did not see any signs limiting how long...
