Williamsport Falls is sometime called โDry Fallsโ due to the small watershed that feeds it, but when it does have flow the view is great from the observation area and down in the ravine. At 92โ (or 94โ?) height, it is arguably Indianaโs tallest waterfall. Much of the town of Williamsport seems to have grown around the Falls and gorge.
Interesting things to see at the site or in the surrounding gorge are remnants of a sandstone quarry (looks like Incan ruins) with a pier where the railroad had a spur over the top of the falls to haul stone. An unofficial trail traverses the ravine down near the Wabash River.

Wading through the creek up to the falls was definitely an experience to have. Standing behind the falls was also an amazing experience and the huge boulders right at the falls make for a great spot for family photos. Definitely selfie worthy as well.
The falls are tucked away in the Northern Indiana countryside; however, easy to find and just a few minutes from the interstate. Listed as Indiana's tallest waterfall and it did not disappoint. Completely worth the hour drive from Indianapolis.
We loved it and will definitely be...

The short drive to the waterfall's parking area is immediately west of the bridge (turn right - to the north). The sign for the falls faces west, so you won't see it when coming from the east. The falls is difficult to see from a distance - even a short distance. To get a reasonable view of it requires getting down to the level of it's creek, and getting reasonably close to the falls, which may not be easy to do ... depending on how high and/or fast the Creek's...
