Moratoc Park — Attraction in Williamston

We checked this out luckily before the torrential downpour started. The boardwalk has had a lot of it replaced, and was a really nice walk. There was a private event going on in the river front building there. No one was fishing that day from the boardwalk, but down the dirt road going to the game lands, we did see someone fishing there. Unfortunately we couldn't continue down the road because it was totally flooded. We'll have to try that again another time. It was peaceful and clean while...

Went to meet family at the halfway point and Moratoc Park was the designation. Arrived there early to setup the covered area with party supplies. As I was setting up my wife was taking care of our kids in and out of the van. Right next to our van was 2 low life black guys sitting in their SUV hanging out the window harassing my wife with verbal remarks. So pickup and went else where in the city. There is a pretty boardwalk along the Roanoke River, and bathrooms on site. The attached greenway leads almost a mile to downtown, or a short distance to the Boat Ramp, which has another section of boardwalk people can fish off of.
