My family has been camping here yearly over the Fourth of July holiday for well over a decade. Our group currently consists of nine campsites and over 20 people. We are all talking about finding a new campground for next year. The current individuals running the park are on a serious power trip. I was spammed by their staff members leading up to my stay with no less than seven emails within a five day period talking about various restrictions and even that they were hoping people would not use any electricity between the hours of 1pm and 7pm. The average temperature for this trip was in the 90s each day we were there. On top of this, a representative for the park actually visited our site and harassed us about a blow-up dart board toy that our kids were using. The spam emails I received leading up to this trip detailed that no inflatable pools were acceptable on any sites. Apparently they are more concerned about the grass than people's comfort. Anyways, the worker tried to say all inflatables needed to be removed from the site. We pushed back, she backed down, but as she left she threatened that a State Park Officer would probably be by later. My opinion? The entire management team needs to be replaced. I NEVER have these issues at other Ohio State Parks.
EDIT The individual who harassed our group about a toy at our campsite was named Gidget. I apologize if the spelling is wrong. This individual is the primary reason I felt compelled to leave such a horrible review for...
Read moreI’ve always enjoyed going to Loramie if I were to be honest. The memories I made here will always be lasting. It’s a good place to swim (for a lake) though one should be careful of not swallowing any of the water just in case. It’s complete with a good campground and from what from I’ve seen it looks like a good place to camp. Though I am no campground critic, so I can not really say. There’s many places to walk around and a multitude of different fishing spots. I believe the lake has some decently sized fish within it, if there are any fishers out there wondering if they should fish here. Another thing this lake is good for is kayaking and canoeing. They even have a convenient kayak launch and I’m sure you could use it for a canoe as well. What really gets me, though, is that they’ve added a sort of kayak vending machine if anyone ever wanted to rent one. You just pay on and app, scan the QR code and you get a kayak, paddle, and life jacket. I’m pretty sure it costs $20 and hour to rent. There’s many playgrounds dotted about the park and one that I’ve seen has a Gaga ball pit for those who love the game. There’s volleyball sand pits as well. I never went into the bathrooms, so I can’t say wether or not the insides are good, but the outsides looked decently well-kept. So, in conclusion, you should really consider camping here or just taking the day to explore the park and all the activities it...
Read moreI am a big fan of our Ohio State Park Campgrounds. We have been to a few and have 5 starred all of them. Lake Loramie Campgeoind would get a 3.5 if I could give a half star. I am not taking anything from the area at all. It is beautiful. The lake is beautiful. We kayaked and fished. The reason I took the 1.5 star away. 1. The Full hookup sires are really close. All they did was move the fire ring behind each trailer so you were not sitting on the neighbors sewer line. 2. The connection for the sewer is too deep. I have an extension, but you need two to three extensions to get a tight seal. I am leaving my sewer line unattached until I need it to keep the sewer fumes from coming out. 3. There is not enough access to the lake from within the campground. I am well aware of the camping etiquette. But when you have over 100 foot between the camper and the water, there should be no reason why that is not common ground. Before you tell me otherwise, I asked for help in the camp office. She told me that if I asked the people who reserved the site and they said no, there is nothing they can do to allow me to fish or launch my...
