Pros: The variety of trails you can take to complete the loop, beautiful plants/trees on the preserve, how well maintained it all was. Trail maps available.
Cons: lack of parking signage, bugs (we were outside so obviously prepared, but the bites were still excessive), and noise pollution. (it’s right by a very busy street and can only get away from the sound of cars in 2 specific spots on the trail.

Read moreThere are dirt trails in the woods, but if you want a nice paved trail, you can park in the YMCA parking lot. They have a paved trail that runs the perimeter of their property, then joins in with the sidewalk along Johnny Mercer Rd. It then goes back into the edge of the woods, and across a boardwalk over a marshy area.
The whole thing is flat, and well maintained. If you go all the way until the asphalt trail joins into the concrete sidewalk on Byron Woods Rd, then back to your car, it’s about 3.2...
