Mixed review. My spouse and I drove about thirty minutes to get to Yesteryear Farm as a part of our āOregon Tourist Weekend.ā Super cute, transitioning to fall themes, and probably a great place to bring kids.
We arrived too early on a Friday for food, but everything was set up nice. The shop is cute, reasonably priced, and the owner friendly. We bought some fall items, tasted candy, and explored the property.
There is unclear rules about taking picturesāsigns say no professional photographyābut it does not say no cameras or no pictures. I brought my crop-sensor DSLR, itās not a professional camera, and Iāve been taking touristy photos for memories not money. I was asked to stop when I took picture of a sunflower too close to a fence but unlabeled area. I did not cross the fenceājust saw a pretty flower. Iām a literal rule follower. At first I thought I must have misread the signs which are posted throughout, but I did not. It says no professional photography not āno camerasā or āno photography.ā I think itās best you leave your cameras home, even if youāre a picture taking enthusiast like me, and just use your phone to avoid an experience that may put a damper on an otherwise beautiful day. We never got back to the maze, I was too frustrated by two experiences with staff not being being able to answer despite obviously misunderstanding my camera. Iād recommend clarification on what type of cameras are allowed and where photos are okay. I totally support their boundaries with photographers that may be taking advantage of their space, but also for other neurodivergent brains⦠recommend more clarity through clear messaging. The owner said this is a work in progress, I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA guaranteed good time! We moved out this way last year and in an effort to find a pumpkin patch nearby we stumbled upon Yesteryear. First, love that they donāt charge admission! Second, we love a cool place to hang out, maybe grab a drink (complimentary hot apple cider⦠ok, fine - we actually opted for a beer) and a snack (did someone say apple cider donuts?) and just enjoy being outside. Truly a top notch farm! From the movie nights in October (arrive early!!) to the animals to the endless opportunities for free play for kiddos, corn maze, a 10/10 gift shop, an abundance of cute decor and things to look at and enjoy, yummy yummy yummy donuts⦠After loving our first visit for fall last year, we were excited to come back for Christmas and it totally did not disappoint. Equally as enjoyable and festive! This year, I saw that there was Friday movie night, we just had to bring the fam back to kick off the season. Love that we could bring outside food and pack dinner to eat while we hung out and watched the movie. The farm also seems really clean and well managed/taken care of as well. Love that parking is orchestrated too at busier times! Iām confident weāll be back for not only another pumpkin patch trip but also for Christmas, too!!...
