We visited on a Friday morning in mid-June 2025. It was around 10Am and there were plenty of spots in the free parking lot across the street.
We went to the Burlingham House Visitor Center first to ask about activities. They have a few small exhibits and a small gift shop as well. They are open Wed-Sun 10-4PM from Jun-Oct. We asked to do the Junior Ranger which was a cool scavenger hunt. If you have the time, I highly recommend. We were only able to find 3 of the caches and stamps but the ranger let us have the badges as we also did the House Tour. The tour is free but first come, first serve. There are max 12 per tour but we had 13 and the ranger said that was fine and it was the largest group she had ever had. The tour was fascinating and took about half an hour. The visitor center also offers supplies to go out and do your own sketches or drawings around the park.
The Young Studio and Weir Studio is the adjacent buildings were cool. They did have docents in them to watch and answer questions. The Secret garden was nice as well.
The bathroom was in a separate building behind the visit center. It can be a bit of a walk.
There was certainly a lot more to explore and we were only able to spend a little over an hour there. We got our national park passport cancellation stamp. They also had free stickers and tattoos. We would definitely visit again if we were...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite places to go and relax. If you like painting you can get free paints and access to drawing supplies. It really is a great experience for kids, especially the "scavenger hunt" and being able to use high quality paints and drawing supplies.
Every time I have been there (3 times) the Park Rangers are super helpful and thoroughly knowledgeable. I have been to a few national parks, but this is one of my favorites. It's great all year, but I have been there twice in the fall and I think it's beautiful.
If you like history, and know or want to learn about American impressionist painting, this is a great place. There are tours and workshops galore! That being said, this is also a great place to sit back relax and do nothing and just enjoy the land, the surroundings, and...

My mother, an artist, had been wanting to go here for 15 years. The look on her face said it all. She was inspired. I couldn’t help but feel inspired, myself.
Weir Farm is secluded. You have to drive through rolling hills and wilderness to get there, but it’s worth it. My parents, my sister, and I went here in June and it was perfect. Everything was green. You can see why artists would gather here to create amazing works.
The volunteers love what they do, you can tell. Take a tour through the studios and farmhouse. Everything is well crafted and faithfully preserved from Weir’s time here.
I loved that they give you the ability to create a watercolor piece of your own - for free. It’s peaceful to sit on the grass and paint.
Highly...
