Here lay the bones of Old Chief Joseph on a hill overlooking the lake and mountains. It’s an old cemetery and Chief Joseph’s remains were relocated here after grave robbers disturbed his previous interment.

Read moreThis was neat to find along the way, the petroglyphs from the Nez Pierce. Part of the nez Pierce national historic Park. I'm not sure where the rest of the park was. We only went on the walkway which was 2/10 of a mile from the nice parking area and the trailhead. Easy almost level walking, steep sided bank so hang on to little ones but easy enough for them to make it there. Strollers okay too. Probably not...
