Pisgah State Park — Attraction in Winchester

I guess if you are a total beginner ridder maybe it's ok to mess around in but for a decent dirt bike rider it's the worst place I've ever ridden. A mix of paved and dirt roads with speed limits and cars on them every single "trail" I saw said closed to dirt bikes. The only place open to dirt bikes were roads also open to cars and we confirmed this by speaking to an onsite park ranger. I would never recommend anyone except a first time...

A variety of trails to choose from. We ended up starting on Reservoir Road and then doing a loop through the Dogwood Swamp Trail, Chestnut Hill Trail, and the the Reservoir Trail. If you're hiking I don't recommend starting on Reservoir Road since it's mainly for the use of ATVs. Great wilderness and varied habitats for birding and hiking but difficult to enjoy the peacefulness and wildlife of the park with the constant hum of dirtbikes and ATVs in your ear and scaring off the wildlife.
