A good paved trail for walking, jogging, or cycling, with clear lines to direct flow of travel. There are no benches currently. Any planted trees are still too small to provide shade, so plan to bring sunscreen and a hat. I only saw trash cans at the parking area for the trail, but it was largely still clean. There are a few signs indicating no fishing, so I guess the river isn't on the greenway property. Plus there's currently not much water in the river so even all the way up at James Shackleford park, there's no point in trying to fish. On the plus side, I did see a doe and two fawns, so...
Read moreThis is a very good trail for cycling. There and back is 10.22 miles with some slight hills. If you want to build up your endurance, this trail is very good because you can ride it two or three times and easily go 20-30 miles.
My only complaint is that the water fountain is off.
Also, there isn't a lot of parking but there is a little gravel over flow...
