It's Sept 2024 and Cheney is a dust bowl... Somehow this lake is still underused!! I would go so far as to call this Wilson's little brother because the water is similarly clean and the bottom rocky. Great campsites on both sides with plenty of private beach sites. Stay on the main road and take it all the way East and you'll wind up at the nature trail head. I found the facilities to be mostly clean and functional. With a bike and a boat I was able to keep myself entertained Non-Stop.

we have always done our company gatherings here and we enjoy it everytime. there is something that need to be changed but happy with the lake. more camping spots with all utilities would be a plus

I love the peace and tranquillity that the camping spots out here offer. Not to full during off holiday times. Usually very clean. I always try to leave my spots cleaner than I found them.

Though they have made a lot of good improvements here, there are still a lot that need to be done to warrant the $17 a night price. They redid the cement pads that were already there, did not add any new ones. Did not fix the ruts caused by the floods last year. The electricity lives a lot to be desired. Last summer it was a major problem in the heat of the day. This was understandable where there was a lot of campers here. However, there isn't that many campers today and the heat wasn't that bad and we lost power. For the price it's not the best place to stay. Last year it was $12 a night. I am not sure what improvements were made to warrant a $5 a night price hike. Yet it is here. The trash seems to be out of hand here this year as well. I have been coming to this lake for almost 30 years every summer. I grew up on this lake, my children and now my grandchildren, I have seen it go down hill this last few years.

I hope that something will be done to get it back on track and make it the great family destination it was from my youth. If you are looking for a place to go for the day or just a weekend it would work. Just don't expect it to be a KOA. Which is what most would expect...

The only reason I gave it one star. Is because the lake itself is beautiful, but the roads were horrible, big ruts everywhere. The restrooms were disgusting and filthy with geese poop, feathers and mud All over them, my husband said he wouldn't let a pig use them. The campsites weren't really designated, you had to back up to a Pole. Except one campground and they weren't marked. They charge you for everything. There is a charge to camp. A daily park pass charge just to be in the park. A charge to rent a fire pit. And more, if you are not a county resident. With as much money as they're charging, you think they could afford to at least clean things up and make it nice for people to...

This is a nice place to camp. There are plenty of camp spots with a lot of shade and most you can pull through. Unfortunately the quiet hours aren't enforced, so sometimes there are some loud people. Also, there aren't a lot of trash cans so some people litter, but it's not too bad, and watch where you step because some people don't clean up after their dogs. There are a lot of places to put boats in and a pretty nice sandy beach. Some of the bathrooms are brand new, so...
