Attended an event hosted by Greg Keilback in which he shared a story he wrote about one of his earliest hiking experiences, and the impact it had on his appreciation for nature conservation. There is a knowledgeable staff on location, about to begin their nature walks and other presentations. Read moreThis is small park but it has some unique landscape along its creek forming Dells. A portion of the trails leaving the nature center are paved and they stay within the confines of a small wooded area. Further on the trail becomes natural, more hilly and heavily wooded. The creek is the central feature in this part of the park. In the summer this park can be quite busy but the winter is much less active. There are large numbers of humming birds here in season up in front of the nature center so if you are looking to photograph them you are almost guaranteed to see them when...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic place to relax and enjoy all the birds!!! The Nature Center provides food for our feathered friends so there's a lot of birds that call it home. There's a multitude of different birds there..Indigo Bunting, Goldfinches, Rose Breasted Grosbeaks, Orioles, Nuthatches, Eastern Phoebes, Flickers, Gnat catchers, White Crowned Sparrows, and so much more!!! There's also a really nice walking path and a natural play area for the kids; big and small 😉. They also host a lot of Milkweed so the Monarchs are super happy there.
