Winnie Stowell County Park — Attraction in Winnie

5 Stars with a Caveat.. We have a 38 foot RV pulling a car and it was very easy to get in and out of the area where they allow over night camping. Their web site says you have to have permission from the county commissioner. We decided on a Saturday morning to stop there and the office wasn't open but the message explained what is allowed for camping so we went ahead and stopped there. No problems. Around 7 o'clock I was thinking what a wonderful place this was.... near town but quiet. I felt safe. But then around 8 o'clock a private party started in the pavilion about 200 yards away. OMG!!! The music was so loud. The bass thumped until 11:00. No one at this party misbehaved and they had every right to be there. I just have to warn campers that if you stop there on a Friday or Saturday night you may not have the same peace and quiet you might get on other nights. I do thank the town of Winnie for letting us stay. We enjoyed seeing...

This is a great park. The playground has recently been replaced and our kids loved the ship theme. The two story Merry go round is a good idea, just really heavy to push. I think you need three or four adults to operate it effectively. You can camp here for up to three days. Just call the county (number on google maps is what I used). They ask for your license plate info. Police patrol often (sometimes going a little too fast though). There is water taps, electric and sewer hookups though you are not supposed to use them dry camping. I would definitely stay here again. We picked up quite a bit of garbage, so make sure you don't litter because we want them to keep allowing people to camp here....

Park is always clean has nice bathrooms clean and have toliet paper every time i have gone. Each morning someone goes in to mop the bathroom floors with pine sol cleaner so it has a fresh odor and i have never seen it dirty. My family go there a lot to spend the day picnic whatever. Also great playground for the kids. The playground is well built small kids can play but so can the older kids. The play area is fenced in and locked at night and reopened in the mornings. Park is well maintained and grass is kept up. Also have picnic tables...
