We went to Wateree Damn several times while I was visiting SC. It’s an extremely secluded state park that has plenty of parking. There is no entry fee or parking fee and also has no bathrooms as far as I could see. You can park and walk down to the water and set up chairs to fish. So many trees to provide shade. There is a boat ramp to launch boats. The dam is beautiful at night and there was lots of people on the dam fishing for catfish! We caught striped bass, catfish and crappie. The only bad part about this place is that it has been trashed. There is trash piled up everywhere. We brought bags and picked up as much as we could unfortunately it would take a huge crew to clean this place.
