Man, if I had any kinda motorized vehicle or even just a paddle boat, Id love to come here. This park is always Poppin with people & their water toys on any Hot sunny weekend. I like the fact that to the right of the dock, there's quite a stretch of sandy beach where you can kinda wade or walk in the water... and NOW, from what I've heard (I've not seen so myself YET) due to the underwater plants growing so rapidly with no way to tame them... Apparently, they've put 4-5 MANATEES with Orange Strips down all their backs (for boaters/motorist to better see them in the water & avert causing them any harm) in order to eat all the overgrown greenery in the lake!!!

Read moreThis appeared to be an awesome place to stop, take a break, enjoy the shade, and be by a bit of water. I prefer crashing waves, but this was good. It was clean from what view I had in the short time I stopped. I'm new to the area and just thought I'd pull in. There were many picnic tables that were covered, so that was nice. There wasn't trash strewn about. We will definitely stop in again while in the area. I have to travel from North Lakeland to Winter Haven often. The traffic, no matter the time of day is always hectic. So having a nice grounding spot to relax even just 5 min makes a huge difference. Next time,...
