Trotwood Park — Attraction in Winter Springs

This park is awesome! During the summer months, they have a splash pad. There is a seperate preschool age play area as well as a huge play area for older kids. There are covered picnic tables in a gazebo type structure...no walls or doors just a roof but great for staying out of the sun or summer rain. There are bbq grills available to use by the tables as well. I know from personal experience that if you want to pman a birthday party, you can call and reserve the tables. I am not sure if you have to be a resident or not. They also have a pier that stretches out into a lake/pond where you can see ducks and other birds as well as some fish and tons of turtles. This park is well maintained and clean. I personally have never seen people just hanging around that seemed out of place. I haven't ever gotten the sense that my children weren't safe. There are basketball courts and soccer fields. A section of the park is currently under some type of maintenance or improvement...but that does not interfere with the children's ay...

We love the new playground but we miss the old one too. All in all it's a great place to bring the kiddos to ware them (and us) out. Everyone's very nice, there's never any drama or shenanigans. Even where older kids interact with younger ones there seems to be an understanding and everybody's super cool. The ONE problem I have is when staff decides to leaf-blow the playground when it's teaming with children and parents. It's not JUST loud, annoying and rude. It's also a gas blower so the exhaust fumes that our running, playing children are breathing in, are not just unpleasant but actually harmful to their young lungs. Now I know we can't protect them from toxic fumes their entire lives but that doesn't mean we need to chase them around the Gd* playground with it!

12/15/22 I am THRILLED to update that I have not ONCE since my last update encountered active leaf blowers during playground...

I mean, what can you do about people being rude in the bathroom? I am sure the people responsible for cleaning this restroom do a great job. There is no deep filth; only trails of rude behaviors. I would pay vending machine style to use the restroom for two reasons respect for the workers and two peace of mind while children use the restroom.

The park itself is super cool ! Oh my, the earthy feel is amazing. The double shaded place area is extremely functional and thoughtful. The splash pad water obviously has disinfectant or something because the ground is clear where the water hits and is not mildew. The structure of the splash pad is super cool !

There is a dock i did not see if there is fishing allowed. There is a bench and a bike rack.

Open baseball field beautiful and accessible!
