Even before I saw the movie I've always loved covered bridges something about them brings to mind a simpler way of life. Somehow to me even romantic. I can just picture the guy asking the shy girl if he can hold her hand. Of course I was not disappointed I loved it. I took way to many pictures, but that's ok cause when I get back home I can look back & remember. This is the only bridge spot that has a gift shop so you might want to go take a peek. For a small shop they have quite a selection. Of course t-shirts, honey, wine, coffee, signs & even John Wayne toilet paper. There must be someone you know who would love a roll of John Wayne...

Not to be missed! What a pleasant way to spend a day. All of the bridges are historical. The surrounding area is beautiful and maintained by people who take pride in their homes and community. The downtown has many little shops and areas of interest including a quilt museum, a fantastic visitors center, John Wayne's birthplace, restaurants and more. Three wineries in the area offer some really good white and reds. Start with a map from the visitors center and create some great memories of Madison County. Special events are held most every month. Can't...

We visited the Roseman Covered Bridge on a weekend and were pleasantly surprised by how peaceful and quiet it was, not many people around, which made the experience even more special. The bridge itself is beautifully preserved and full of history, especially for fans of The Bridges of Madison County.

It’s a scenic little spot surrounded by nature, perfect for a calm walk and a few great photo ops. There’s also a small gift shop nearby with some charming local items and info on the bridge’s past. If you’re in the area, it’s absolutely...

Made famous by the movie, Bridges of Madison County, the Roseman bridge stands as a tribute to the ingenuity, craftsmanship and architectural design, of the late 1800’s. Now grant it, it has a rather cheesy gift shop, the beauty of this structure and its surroundings are simply beautiful. A must see. There are several other covered bridges in the area that are just as beautiful and significant as the Roseman bridge. We will return when our adventures bring us in search of all covered bridges, especially those of Madison County.
