Even before I saw the movie I've always loved covered bridges something about them brings to mind a simpler way of life. Somehow to me even romantic. I can just picture the guy asking the shy girl if he can hold her hand. Of course I was not disappointed I loved it. I took way to many pictures, but that's ok cause when I get back home I can look back & remember. This is the only bridge spot that has a gift shop so you might want to go take a peek. The surrounding area is beautiful and maintained by people who take pride in their homes and community. The downtown has many little shops and areas of interest including a quilt museum, a fantastic visitors center, John Wayne's birthplace, restaurants and more. Read moreWe visited the Roseman Covered Bridge on a weekend and were pleasantly surprised by how peaceful and quiet it was, not many people around, which made the experience even more special. The bridge itself is beautifully preserved and full of history, especially for fans of The Bridges of Madison County.
