Hogback Ridge Bridge is another great stop on the Madison County covered bridge trail. The setting is peaceful and scenic, and the bridge itself has that classic, historic charm you’d expect. One unique thing about this one, you can’t drive through the bridge, but you can drive around to the other side, which is perfect if you want to see it from every angle without backtracking.

Set in the country with scenic views a close drive to Winterset Iowa where John Wayne’s Birthplace is , Cold Turkey was shot as well as The Bridges of Madison County.
The county had 7 Covered bridges when I lived there but they have been attacked by arsonists over the years. I believe there are 6 now.
