The trail was very well marked. Sometimes it seems like there could be a trail, but just look for the blue paint on the trees! The trail was moderate. There were rocks and muddy parts. So not a good trail for people with difficulties with mobility. But in my opinion, it is a great trail for beginners or intermediate hikers. Dogs are allowed on this trail, the owners were very respectful when I went today (with my own dog.) The parking lot is a little small, so you may have to park along the road. The road isn't very busy, but the trail is very popular.

I love this hike in Central Maine. This protected parcel is part of Kennebec Land Trust. The 60-foot fire tower is in great shape, sturdy, and safe to navigate up to the viewing platform which offers gorgeous 360 views. The trailhead is large but fills up quickly on weekends; plan to arrive early. There are 3 trails here plus a dirt access road. Trail difficulty is easy to moderate. There are no public restrooms here.

The access gravel road is fastest way to hike up the steep hill, trails are well kept and even on wet spring day we stayed dry on long sets of wooden boardwalks. The tower at the top is little tricky to climb as it is narrow- we had to keep our dog at the base of tower .. we went down one of the forest trails and it was beautiful but more challenging for kids- lot of roots and stones to hop over. Very nice views
