Lovely spot that was much bigger than I thought it would be. There's a westside garden that's outside the gate and the eastside is within. Westside flowers were drying out but still a decent area to walk around; their desert and drought-tolerant plants are in this section too. The more exotic, well-kept flowers and fruit trees are on the eastside. There's quite a variety and just when you think you've seen everything you find another section to go through. Lots of spots that are photo op-worthy with some gorgeous flowers. There's even a nice green on the far east end and multiple benches throughout the whole gardens to take a rest.
Definitely a nice place to take a stroll through with family, friends, or significant others. Right by Bravo Lake too. Masks are required and they are currently open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Thursday...
Read moreNote that there are two gardens here. There is one at the west end which is public and is open 24 hours a day and I would call it a park garden. The other is at the east end and you walk through a gate to get to it. It's hours are limited. This is the botanic garden and it is truly exceptional. It was exciting to see the variety of plant themes and I have to admit surprising considering the size of Woodlake. That is, the botanic garden is on par with larger metropolitan gardens I have been to around the world.
If you are visiting the national parks in the Sierras it is definitely worth your time to visit this hidden gem...
Read moreA hidden treasure... Woodlake Botanical Garden is spectacular! While meandering my way from Fresno, CA to Three Rivers, CA, I took the country roads which lead me through Woodland, a charming farming community rich in history. Then, I was awe struck to find the Botanical Gardens. Immediately, I pulled in to admire all the roses and succulents. Then, atop the foot path, Bravo Lake! Took my breath away! I will definitely be back when I can spend more time enjoying your garden and to learn more about it! One gentleman told me it was supported and maintained by volunteers! A real treasure! Thank you...
