Great park! However when I was bringing one of the ducks from the pond back to my car (Captured in front of God’s Owne Eyes and using My Own Hand-Forged Instruments and Rogueish Wit!) an old woman from the park began to act rather Peculiarly, with regards to my freshly acquired feathered friend. Whilst I am normally fond of strange women whom act peculiarly, this one began to take my photograph, and even video-tape me whilst shouting many unkind things about me to her party. As her band stood slack-jawed behind this vexatious aspiring daguerreotypist crone, a crowd began to form around me and my quarry. As you can imagine, holding on to a wet and angry duck can be a challenge even for an experienced Sportsman, and by this point my stamina was low and my eagerness to deposit this freshest friend in my trunk high. Normally, when at the center of attention I simply bid adieu with a swish of my cape and with a smooth motion I let fly a handful of fine dust from within my cargo shorts’ fine-dust pocket, but my hands were duly occupied at this time. As the wails from-presumably jealous- onlookers for me to release the duck mounted, and the threats that they might contact the Constabulary began, I was forced by this crowd of Dullards not only to let free the mallard in my hands but the remainder of the flock from within my trunk, and I was forced to watch helpless as they happily reunited with their kind on the glassy surface of the pond. Other aspiring duck collectors may find the hunt is best in the evening hours as the park’s clientele becomes more Discerning and Mature. Also the water...
Read moreThis is a park that my 1.5 year old son and I visit regularly. There is a paved walking trail that is 1/3 of a mile for one lap. There is a disc golf course throughout the park. There is a station with exercise equipment near the walking path. There are 2 bathroom houses. There is also a playground that has a upper and lower level. Both are Wisconsin for ground surface. The bottom level is styled like a pirate ship. I heard of someone having a pirate themed birthday party there. They also have two machines where you can buy food to feed the ducks and geese, one on either side of the pond. This is a highlight for my toddler. It cost 1 quarter for a handful of food, so make sure to bring some change. There ample, close parking. It's always very clean, with little to no litter to be found. As someone else mentioned, there is no drinking fountain. And the playground equipment doesn't have any shade, so the slides get kind of hot in the summer. Other than that, it's a great park for stroller rides and playing...
Read moreWe really enjoy this park. In fact there are weeks that pass where we visit once per day! There are a lot of options here including a running/walking track, fields for soccer, exercise area, tennis courts, basketball courts, a large pond with ducks and geese that you can feed, a huge playground that looks like a pirate ship, mountain biking trail, tons of foliage, public restrooms and even a take-a-book leave-a-book stand. The brand new deck at the pond area is beautiful, and a wonderful addition!
There is a lot to do and options for you and your kids. My only gripe is that the trash cans by the bathroom attract BEES! Lots of them. Now I love bees, and want to save them as often as possible, in any way i can - but when they swarm around you and your kids it's not always a good time.
Other than that occasional small gripe, this please is the "bee's knee's" - see what I did there? Go...
