This is a fantastic hike! Multiple stunning views along the way along with the showstopping view from Tibbet Knob. Almost uninterrupted hills and forest as far as the eye can see! I would rate most of the hike as "medium" difficulty due to the terrain and length but there are a few, near vertical rock climbing sections that I would classify as "hard". The trail is extremely well-marked but the ground is very rocky so ankle supporting shoes are a MUST. We did the hike in two hours (from the Wolf Gap parking lot to the lookout and back) with many stops along the way to check out views or rest. Definitely a hidden gem off the beaten track! In order to get to the Tibbet Trailhead you have to walk out of the parking lot back to the main road and cross over in front of the National Forest sign, the yellow markers will show you the way from there! There were also bathroom facilities.

Trail was okay. The road up to the trail is windy and narrow. The trail was difficult to find and to be honest, I don’t even know if it was the right one. It was very steep and muddy in the beginning. Hardest part was coming down because it’s easy to trip. The trail took about an...

We did this trail from the Judge Rye trailhead. With a two year-old along, it took us an hour to get to the knob and about 45 minutes to return to the trailhead. The route was doable for a toddler with some assistance, with some rocky sections....
