Incredible. In every sense of the word. It's absolutely huge. There so much to do that it's impossible to do it all in one day. $20/person and I have no idea if that includes a pumpkin. Food trucks at the front and back and near the corn barn. Yes. A whole barn filled with corn.
My kids had a grand time. They loved all of it.
I, on the other hand, won't be back until my kids are older. They're kindergarten and preschool. While there seems to be signs all over the entrance that children need to be attended while on the property, most people seem to just turn their kids loose and might be loitering nearby or not. After 1pm it got so busy so that a PA system, that I didn't even know existed before then, had started announcing lost kids looking for their parent(s) every 10 minutes. Older kids bulldozed little kids, turn taking and waiting in line were suggestions. This makes it especially hard on little kids who are still trying to understand societal rules. Every single activity was so full of kids, it was neigh impossible to keep an eye on your own. The corn barn is a small nightmare when it's busy. Because it's so big, there's no way, without wading in yourself to manage your kid. Lots of parents didn't try so corn throwing, toy stealing, and kids falling into one another was a frequent sight. The staff was abundant but mostly concentrated at the riding activities where things had to be managed to keep even a semblance of order. The hayride was nice, but doesn't stop at the pumpkin patch, my kids didn't care, but I was confused. Lastly, perhaps most frustratingly, while there are tons of portable toilets and hand wash stations, that's all you get. There isn't a single flush toilet for public use. Maybe this won't bother everyone, but with a newly potty trained preschooler it was a logistical nightmare to get her into one.
For $20/person I do expect access to a real toilet, especially when this place is clearly not trying to be anything other than an amusement park.
Like I said, the kids had a fabulous time. We all came home...
Read moreFor a family of seven on a tight budget, we've never been able to come here. This year, or family was randomly gifted season passes (not cheap either) and so we wanted to make the best use of them. Our first time, despite living not too far away. My advise? If you're going to pay for it, allow plenty of time to be there. As in... More than three hours to make it worth it. Very creative and interactive places for the kids to explore, play, and get lost in the imagination. Fun life sized games, a corn pit with toys, really cool slides, peddle tractors, hayrides, tractor pull (with your own strength), music center with farm tools, potato slings, various mazes.... The list goes on. As a homeschooling parent, this was a learners paradise. The parking lot looked full (went on the last warm day) and I was nervous it would be over crowded. However, with so much acreage and space inside of didn't feel the least bit crowded. Don't let the parking intimidate you. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall, great great family place. Give yourself the day to enjoy it! In 2022 it was roughly $15/person over age 2. Sorry. No pictures... The kids were...
Read moreThis was our first trip there and it was wonderful. Very relaxing and so much for our son to do. Tons of people here on a beautiful Fall Saturday but never felt overly crowded. Oddly, kinda wish they had more to go through in the way of gift shop/crafts. The type of place we wanted to give more money to at the end. I hope they add more opportunites to support some local Wooster vendors in the future.
It is so common to feel like you don't want to spend any more b/c the venue charges you for admission, then parking, then wristbands, then special rides, etc etc. Those venues charge absurd amounts for a jar of apple butter, pumpkins, etc. Everything here was very reasonably priced and instantly became a yearly 2hr drive for us today.
One additional thing. There is a row of food trucks in the far back right of the farm that we didn't discover until after we already got food. Thought we had seen them all & I imagine they get missed frequently by others for the same reason. Was a shame b/c the taco truck, Chipotle style bowl truck and other food options back there...
