Wow. What a strange experience. Certainly not what we were expecting.
Everything started off fine until "one" of the scoopers decided to enforce the "only one sample" policy 35 seconds after I had THREE samples right on front of the other scooper. (this policy was explained to us as what I'd assume to be a large # of "foreigners" that come in and ask for a bunch of samples and then don't buy anything.
I'm not sure if we resembled any of those"foreigners" but as we are pretty white, I doubt it. We are also quite a bit older than someone who would appear to need to be refused samples of the 20+ different and somewhat unique flavor names. When asked how would we choose from the 3 different chocolate flavored ice creams we were told "I guess just look at them and pick one"! Lol... šµš
We were fortunate to have run into Michelle outside as we were leaving without any ice cream as the attitude of the 2nd scooper killed the vibe/moment for us. She with the assistance of the older gentlemen who we presume to be the owner (the one who made the "foreigner" comment), allowed is to have the 2nd sample..lol.
We proceeded to buy the one scoop in addition to my original 2 scoops. (and yes, we were charged full price)
So, we were almost done (just getting the money out of my pocket to pay when a different much angrier "manager" comes out with a scowl on her face asking in a very aggressive manner if "everything was alright" to Michelle.. in a tone and a face like she was ready to fight someone.. lol. Wth!?? We were so shocked we (I) actually started laughing... I was doing my best to not say what was on my mind. It was truly unbelievable. Especially for the experience and for the price..$5.50 per small scoop is not a discount by any means.
As we were paying a younger gentleman who I asked if he was related to the owners (and said yes) was much nicer, but by then, we were done being mistreated. We took our 3 scoops and 3 cookies and said Thank You and Goodbye.
We are eating the ice cream in the parking lot.. it's ok/decent. Unfortunately, the experience will preclude us from coming back again. We cannot in good conscious support a business that degrades its customers, overcharges for its product, and mistreats its customers at the same time.
Really a shame. Life is too short to be so angry/short with your paying customers... and for limiting the amount of very tiny samples that 2 adult ice cream lovers (connoisseur's) are allowed to try before buying $16 worth of ice cream and $11 worth of cookies in your business. At $5.50 per small scoop, you've got Plenty of margin to cover our small scoops and all "the foreigners" free tasters! (especially if they bought anything else in your store)
I just saw 3 "foreigners" walking out with 2 bags full of stuff.. make sure to give the next "foreigners" a few extras tasters on them! šš¾š
Based on the age of the family members and helpers with the bad attitudes and many of the reviews regarding a cold and greedy atmosphere, maybe this family should meet and come up with a plan to get back to making their customers happy! It's much easier/better to make and keep happy/loyal customers than it is to win back ones you've disappointed or offended. (Read how many reviews people were/are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been coming here every year since I was a toddler, but this year ruined it completely for the entire family.
We really only wanted to look at the animals because we brought our 68 year old grandmother with us, but forced into paying a hefty $96 upon entry as opposed to coming in for free and paying for select activities later. That is money that I, a 20 year old just starting out in life, could use to buy food and clothes, just to look at a few cows that sit there and do nothing while the pig sleeps.
Since we paid all the money for that wretched wrist band, we decided to take a walk through the corn maze. Every year since I was 6, I was able to easily decipher the map and find all the secret points on the map to win the prize. The prize was done away with years ago, which was already upsetting, but this year I had trouble. Why? Because not only were we forced to share one map, but it was PRINTED WRONG. So the four of us had to cut through the corn to escape.
So after that ordeal, you'd think we'd be pretty thirsty from arguing over a map for an hour, right? Water. THREE DOLLERS A BOTTLE. There goes my dinner!
We then thought we could go apple slinging or pumpkin painting, but guess what. They were both gone.
We thought we might try the silly little mining sifters, but that would cost even more money. Seeing as we were already over 100 bucks on this trip, we skipped out this year and went on the train.
My grandma asked if they stopped at the pumpkin patch, which was another recent removal.
The train ride was alright i guess. Budget hayride with an annoying song that sounded like it came from cocomelon. My boss could easily pull off a better hayride.
After that we just decided to leave because we had such a bad time. We're never...
