I really enjoyed this hike. I love the outdoors but don't get to do it often. So as a mid 30's, solo, okay shape, female hiker I was a bit nervous. But, Im so glad I did the hike. There are quite a few rocky inclines. But, I feel they are properly balanced out with declines and even parts as well. The first part of the trail before the gate was probably the hardest. You're surrounded by trees most of the time and I didn't see a whole lot of people on the trail. But, there were a couple people fishing and I passed enough people I didn't feel extremely isolated. But, it was still extremely peaceful and I was alone most of the time. When you get one the one steep rocky incline and are greeted by a beautiful blue lake and mountains makes the hike feel special. I ended up turning around at a creek a ways in as I didn't really know how long it went on for and I couldn't find a way to get across without getting my feet too wet. Hiked for probably 4 to 4.5 hours there and back with a couple breaks at the lakes and one small back track after freaking myself out then convincing myself to turn back around and keep going. I passed I think 4 lakes in total. Parking lot wasn't super big so don't get there too late. I got there around 9am with a good few spots left. There were put toilet restrooms at the parking lot as well but no trashcan.

Very good. Hike into the Cloud Peak Wilderness. On the day I went there was a lot of smoke in the air, so the sunrise at Willow Lake was a spectacular red hue. I caught some graying in this Lake. I've been coming to the Cloud Peak Wilderness and the Bighorn Mountains off and on since 1975.

Followed the marked paths, with help of a local, to a breathtaking lake view. Great picnic area and trout fishing

Trail not for bikers / beginners. Have some good boots and depth perception as there are LOTS of big rocks that you can stumble on. Great for horses.

I was unlucky enough to hike it while the mosquitos were out, and ended up turning around after going a mile and a half in. Not really satisfied with the hike, but I also did not go all the way. I will say that there was nothing remarkable about the first mile and a half. But who knows, I'm sure there is somewhat of a finale if you go a...

The free dispersed camping has some better views than any of the campsites in the campground. I hiked the lakes loop over 2 day and was wishing I had brought enough food for 3 or 4, each lake was so beautiful, the views were incredible, the hiking was not hard and the fishing was so good! I was using a rod and reel that I had just picked up in Buffalo and caught dozens...
