Whether you have a geological interest or you just enjoy beautiful landscapes, a short trip to the Devil's Kitchen Geological Site east of Greybull WY is well worth the effort. 5 miles east of town and 4 miles off of Hwy 14 on Devil's Road, the site presents a large, eroded badland basin without vegetation and with layers of brightly colored rocks exposed. This is a very informal site, with no signage, guardrails or development - just wonderful views. The road in can be handled by car, but the road may become a challenge in wet conditions, especially the last several hundred yards. An unpaved road leads to the location and I believe 2WD with higher ground clearance will get you there during dry seasons. There are no signs or official parking areas, but you can easily see where others have driven and explored in the past.
