This is a quick stop in the middle of the road. Very interesting for sure. My only complaint is not about the actual site but about not understanding why people can't just pick up their garbage? If you see the garbage can is full, just keep your garbage until another stop. Don't ruin such a neat place like that, have some respect! You might think it's just a tree in a rock, but stop, read the history, and take a minute to look around you.

It was interesting to read about the tree and it's history. It was interesting that the old railroad ran just south of the freeway and the train would occasionally stop and they would water the tree. I was surprised that the tree was about a foot in diameter, I always thought it was less than 6 inches in diameter. I don't know why.

Loved this little stop. The tree is in the center of the highway. Instead of bulldozer it, they worked around it. Entry to it from both sides. Parking in both sides large enough for tractor trailers, RVs, n cars with trailers. Trash cans available. Signage that tells the story. If you're on the Lincoln Hwy, it's a nice stop.

Snow blowing sideways. Low visibility. Slick roads. On hour 6 of our road trip home, spirits were low. We see a sign for point of interest. In the remoteness of Wyoming, what could it be?!?! It was, it was, it was, a tree in a rock. Ok. Trees grow in rocks. A tree as a point of interest. I’m not so sure how to feel about that. Plus one star for curiosity...
