Great area for hiking, camping, fishing and picnic. You can park your car in many designated spots, some for day use and some for overnight use, and use the vault toilets. The explanatory signs and maps will guide you in case you haven't done it in advance. Trails are well-maintained and you have a variety of uses, from riding your horse to backcountry camping, being hiking Cloud Peak one of the most challenging activities you can do. This area is large and wild and encountering mooses, deers, marmots and pika amongst the mammals is common. Birds and fishes also abound amongst its many trees and lakes. This is a vast area of national forest for everyone's free use, come and enjoy, but be responsible as well!

Did 65 to mirror and twin lakes. Just under 12mi and 2300ft of elevation, but i walked around the lakes a bit. It's clearly a very heavily trafficked trail and I probably wouldn't do it again for that reason alone. It wasn't even very busy when I was there but 9/10 people I came across were annoying or otherwise inconsiderate to each other, wildlife, and the wilderness in general. Might be better in the mid to late fall, snow permitting. Only saw 1 moose and some grouse but I went middle of the day. Gorgeous lakes at the top at least. And the trailhead itself is very nice - I appreciate the separate day use and overnight lots. Plus the lake and area around the trailhead is gorgeous on its own.

Two areas for parking one for day use and one for overnight. Can crowd up as day hikers park in the overnight area Free dispersed camping with fire rings south of trailhead. Campsite 15 was my favorite looking out into the meadows. Keep dogs on leash moose everywhere

A weekend get away on labor day weekend was anything but. So many people. So many ATVS. So hard to just sit in silence. Idk if it was just the weekend or not. Camp was incredible. Facilities clean. Just so many people. The trail had so many people as well. And you have to cross a creek to get going so bring different shoes. Also take your time. People said they ran this and it easy but it's not. And there is no way. I love hiking and have been all over the US. I wear minimalist hiking shoes and didn't attempt the boulder field to the top. It still took me...
