Showed up on clam chowder day and they were sold out. We were pretty bummed, but next time we will call ahead because broccoli cheddar is really the best day to go, just get there early. Seriously though, this is a 5 star hike from the trailhead at Hall's Lake it's under an hour on foot. Once there you can follow a loop around the bowl, or descend 100 feet or so down below. You will feel a temperature drop at the bottom, but besides that not a ton to see. This is actually a geological feature caused by receding glaciers called a kettle. After the soupbowl follow trails to Graves Hill, Hall Lake...

Spent hours in the woods. This trail is a moderate trail. We used a jogging stroller with big wheels and it worked fine. Had to pick it up to cross a few fallen trees but the DNR/parks and recreation keep it pretty well maintained. This trail connects you to several other trails including graves hill lookout, devil's soup bowl trail, long lake trail, deep lake trail and so many more. You can spend a whole day on these trails and see no two...

I used to explore this area as a child in the late 70's. There was a trail to the bottom with an explanation of the anomaly. I guess since it has been made "safe", no longer allowing access. Now it is just a hole filled with brambles and decaying trees.
