Longmire is the spot in Yelm where families, teams, and folks who enjoy green space all come together . It’s got a solid mix of baseball, football, and soccer fields that stay busy year‑round. A playground keeps the younger crowd happy, and the open fields give enough space to toss a frisbee or chill on a blanket . Plus, parking’s free and the park’s pet‑friendly, which always makes visits easier .
The highs:
Well‑kept athletic fields that are rented out for practices and tournaments
A bright playground and picnic areas that make it easy to spend a couple hours
Regular “movies in the park” events—big hit with the kids
Open early to late (6 AM–11 PM), so you can swing by after work or hit a morning run
Heads‑up points:
Restrooms are sometimes locked up, even if the park’s open
No dog zone in most areas—pet owners have to stick close unless there's a separate green area

Read moreThis is my secondly time here. There are some things that could be better. More than one garbage can,a recycling can and wood chips would be great. My grandkids did notice some fowl language on the underside of the play equipment. I'm sure staff wouldn't see it from standing. The swings were muddy underneath from it raining ther night before but also the lack of wood chips. Isn't there supposed to be a certain depth of wood chips to.protect kids when.they fall. There was no soap in the bathroom I used t andhe air dryer didn't work, luckily it was warm outside to air dry your hands, also the water didn't want to completely drain out of the sink. I don't know if this is how the park is normally kept or they haven't gotten it ready for summer. Maybe some long overdo maintenance is in order. One more thing I noticed was some white powder stuff on part of the play structure facing it on the left side. I hope my next...
Read moreMy son and I love Longmire. Throwing the football around and enjoying the wide open space this park has to offer is our best pass time. The view of the mountain is spectacular, even on the rainy days when my head is cloudy much like the skies, I enjoy just sitting a few moments at the park to clear my head and stare at the mountain. It has plenty to offer anyone including those that just need to get some fresh air and release the day. Movies at the park are offered on certain evenings and we just enjoyed our first one. It was such a fun experience. My neices baby is less than a year old and He was having the time of his life on that blanket crawling around the grass and enjoying the music from the movie. The vibe is always healthy at this park. I cant express enough how perfect this park...
