We camped in one of the larger sites, with tents last week right at opening. This campground is more geared towards RVs etc.

The bathrooms are clean, but very few and far between. Showers were locked, and no water spigots were turned on. Lots of accessible garbage cans that are checked daily by friendly staff!

Tent camping was a 4/5 due to limited bathrooms and lack of easily accessed running water. Would be an easy 5/5 for an RV or trailer!

The tent sites look good if you don’t mind camping tent to tent with strangers.

There is some logging truck noise early morning from the road leading across the river but nothing overbearing at all.

It’s a big campsite with lots of gorgeous trees! River views are beautiful. Long parking pads for a variety of RVs, campers and fifth wheels. Make sure you check the dimensions of your site before choosing online; some have very limited space!

We spotted fresh big cat tracks at the Goat Creek bridge off of the logging road to the left, over the fishing bridge.

Don’t forget to pick up after yourselves; lots of little micro-trash we picked up out of our site and the ones next to us (fake nails, broken cooler latches, plastic string, bits of candy...

This campground surprised me and we really enjoyed it! It's very well kept. We camped Memorial Weekend and it was pretty quiet and peaceful. Great for families and bikers. The showers are big and hot, takes quarters (unsure if there is somewhere to get change), never had to wait for one but want to note there was a handful of spiders and cobwebs in the stalls. You also cannot drive right up to your site if you are tent camping, there's a designated parking lot so consider that when choosing a site. The furthest one was only about 100 or so yards away along a path. All the sites had plenty of shade and a lot were semi private. There was no swimming/boat access when we went but you could walk down to the water and also fish. Firewood for sale too. There's a fish cleaning station by the tent site parking lot. Nearest grocery/gas is a 10 min drive. Would...

We stayed in group camp, there is a meadow to put tent on. And on other side there is spot to put more tent , which we choose cause more shade. But they need to do so weed eating, there is a large spot that could be used for more tent but to much brush. I know they are trying to keep it as much with nature as possible but make no sense to have the patch of brush. There is a lot of stinging needles so kids kept wanting to play in woods but kept get stung. Picnic benches need wood replaced. And wished there was a swimming area for the kids, had to go to Morton to swim. Bathrooms are very clean and it is very gorgeous, but for $200 a night you would think the tent area would be more maintained. Over all was nice and clean we would go back if there was more maintenance in the tree camping area. Cost a lot for...

4 miles off of hwy 12. 30 amp power, sewer on some sites, & water. Paved roads and sites. If you back in with driver's side wheels on the edge of the pad, your steps will still be in the dirt. We were here in late September. The north or left side was closed. The south side had only 12 campers. Huge spaces and plenty of room (20 feet or more) between campers. Fire pit and picnic table. Beautiful trees and great scenic walks. River on the west and south border of the park. Located in the foothills of Mt St Helen's. About 50 miles to Mt Ranier and 60 miles to White Pass ski resort. Diesel was $6.09 in Randle today. Medium pepperoni pizza, small order of bread sticks, & 2 fountain drinks was $35 in Packwood. Be prepared for very high prices. Off season camping price was $37. Nice playground.
