4/9/2025 Just tried another amazing wine...the Black Raspberry dessert wine. Wonderful! This wine is sweet without being overly so. The black raspberry flavor is just right! I'm pairing it with Manchego cheese and membrillo, which is a jellied quince that goes perfectly with this wine (you can get this cheese snack tray at Payless in West Lafayette). Thank you, Arvin's Acres, for another triumph!
12/9/2024 Update: WOW! I just popped the cork on the "Toasted." This is one of the most unique wines I've ever had! Delicious! Amazingly sweet, but not cloistering. And the "heat" from the chilis is perfect! This needs to become an Arvin's Acres staple!
5 Dec 2024 Oh my goodness! Arvin's Acres is a little piece of Heaven here in West Central Indiana! I spent 1 1/2 hours there, talking with the owner, Todd. We had the most wonderful conversation! I tried all of the meads. My favorite is "Midnight," a lightly seasoned spiced Meade. The flavors are subtle, yet easily discernable. I purchased a bottle of this, a spiced apple wine, and a bottle of "Toasted," a "white wine infused with Thai chili flakes." I am very much looking forward to this! While there are quite a few wineries in Indiana, and the local area, this is the only meadery of which I know. If you like wines and meads, or want to broaden your pallet, Arvin's Acres is the place to do it. Stop in and speak with Todd; sample the wines and meads. It's well...
Read moreWe waited patiently for Arvin's Acres to open, and we finally were able to make a visit! It is a beautiful property, very nice tasting room, and we were very impressed with the wines and the meads. I don't typically care for meads, but they have some that were really good! Makayla did our tasting for us, and she was so fun and knowledgeable about their products. She gave us an overview of what they are planning for the future, and we can't wait to come back for live music on the patio in the spring and summer! Arvin's Acres was a big hit for us and will be an asset...
Read moreA small group of us went for the first time last month. We did a tasting and we're overall pleased with the flavors. They introduced a chocolate raspberry they told us would be bottled and available for Valentine's Day. I called a couple of weeks ago to see if they had it bottled for sale yet. I was told it would be ready the week of Valentine's. Today is Valentine's Day. I went in to buy 3 bottles. I was informed it wouldn't be ready until Sunday. Needless to say they weren't being very professional. I'm not sure I'll be back. ...
