The road to the lake is the adventure. It's over 10 miles from 395, most of it is graded dirt and gravel, which is doable by anything higher than a passenger car. We did see passenger cars on the road but not sure how far they went, you will definitely scrape at some point! You have to cross several streams, most of which sit in a depression with rocks, so if you don't have decent clearance, you will bottom out. Absolutely gorgeous in fall, there were actually a surprising number of other people on the roads. Dispersed camping is allowed here, so you will also see a decent number of campers/overlanders. I didn't catch any grayling but the trout were spawning up stream out of the lake. It was quite a sight to see. I heard the Earthen dam broke some years ago.
