Youngstown Playhouse & Youth Theatre — Attraction in Youngstown

A true gem in the Valley that offers natives and visitors a chance to view local talent that rivals anything offered in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, professional stock, and yes, possibly even New York. I’m puzzled by the one star reviews, which seem based on petty complaints that have nothing to do with the performances. One patron was confused about which production he bought tickets to view. Our Playhouse has three, count them three, stages! Thank goodness they are few and far between. Don’t like the seats? You are more than welcome to donate cash for new ones. The arts are struggling everywhere, but it is vital that we care for this cultural diamond like a baby robin who has fallen from the nest. Yes, it’s that important to this city and its people who have taken it on the chin countless times yet continue to bounce back. I’m proud to share my love for live theatre with my granddaughters. Great theater! First time at Youngstown Playhouse, and I am very happy to have the pleasure of attending a show there. Easy to find, very well lit, and secure parking. The theater is beautiful inside with great atmosphere, and very friendly, helpful, and experienced staff! Very comfortable, spacious seating, and very clean. We arrived a little late, and we were led to seats that didn't disrupt the play or audience. I truly appreciate the fact that we weren't treated rudely for arriving late!! Definitely upon next visit, we will spend more time exploring and enjoying everything the theater has to offer before the production. Very affordable, and I highly recommend attending an event there. I do not recommend buying tickets through the Youngstown Playhouse. Their refund policy is non-existent for absolutely any reason. I bought tickets to see someone I know in a play. Well the director apparently kicks people out of the plays for absurd reasons. So I obviously do not want these tickets anymore, since the person I know is not in the play anymore. Youngstown Playhouse REFUSES to refund me my tickets and now I’m stuck with them for some that the director did and is not my fault. On top of this, I had to pay an ADDITIONAL FEE to get them moved to a different date. Absolutely ridiculous and such a scam. All this playhouse cares...
