Jackyln was very knowledgable and a super awesome lady. She may be a bit more pricy than most places but please also keep in mind horses are expensive to maintain. I thought i was going to get lost trying to find the ranch, so i left super early as the ranch was 34 minutes away from my location in Palm Springs. I used my GPS for part of the way but turned it off when I got to the dirt road as i knew it would start to confuse me. I found it easily and the ranch is in a beautiful location. The dirt road is quite scary and i did feel as if my tires might pop going up the road as i have a civic sedan...but just go slow and you will be fine. :) I was greeted by her assistant at the ranch but then shortly after Jackyln came up the hill with her troop of german shepherd dogs. They were all super friendly. Jacklyn was able to get me in at the last minute for a 2 hour trail ride considering we were in town during a very busy week. She knew ahead of time that i was an advanced western rider and she did teach me some natural horsemanship skills. I knew most of them as i practice natural horsemanship myself. I love how well behaved her horses were and my horse (Webster) although a little slow knew what he was doing on the trails and could tell i did as well. I didn't mind his slow pace as it was nice to enjoy the scenery. I wasnt in any rush and when i wanted him to catch up, all i had to do was click at him and he would trot closer to Jacklyn's horse. We never used stirrups and the horses were in rope halters, with no bit. I loved that. Most people who are beginners do not understand how to properly use a bridle and bit and as a result end up pulling on the horse's mouth the whole time which is not good. The dogs were fun to have along the ride and Jacklyn and i had a lovely conversation. I have also been a trail guide at horse ranches in the past. All her horses look well fed and seem happy and healthy. I know that every ranch has their own rules and ways of riding, but Jacklyn was how i wish every ranch was run for tourist trail rides. I definitely will be back to ride again with her. Her hours and days are limited so make sure you book ahead of time. I had an awesome time at this ranch. :) Jacklyn is strict about her rules with her horses and it is because she wants her riders to be safe. We are on animals that have minds of their own and anything could happen. Overall...
Read moreAs other reviewers have mentioned, Jacklyn will cancel your reservation without notifying you for no real reason. I called prior to my reservation to inquire about rain and was told all rides would be cancelled if it was raining. Luckily the forecast changed and it was not raining on the morning of my reservation, nor was it predicted to (and true to the forecast, it never did). I called a few times before arrival but no answer. After I arrived she finally called back saying that she cancelled our reservation and that she had told me this. But.....she NEVER contacted me to tell me this. Not a text, not a phone call, nothing. When I pointed this out and the fact that it wasn't raining, she added on the excuse she wasn't feeling well. Rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional. There are other horse ranches in the area,...
Read moreI have never posted a review and seriously cannot understand the negative reviews posted here. Truly baffled. We booked a ride and Jaclyn was super organized and awesome! Even her directions were perfect and we needed them to get there. She also texted to make sure everything was set. There were three of us. One grown up, and a 14 and 10 year old. We rode Webster, Lucy, and Liza. Beautiful sweet horses. And a fantastic ride! What I will say is Jaclyn is unbelievably buttoned up with paperwork, and focuses on training the humans who will ride. She doesn’t fool around. Since a horse is 1200 pounds of force, we appreciated the education and attention to us as well as the care and love for the horses we rode! No question, we’d join this lovely woman again for a ride through the desert land. Thank you for having us! We...
