A nice neighborhood park, with the bonus of a dog park. A smattering of play equipment for little kids and a pair of unisex bathrooms. Grass quality only OK, but this is the desert. Dog owners variable in keeping their pets out of the people area as posted, and then don't clean up the dog logs they leave behind...watch your step! Kids play equipment of good quality but limited shade, so can get quite hot during summer months. Some folks are parking challenged... or feel otherwise entitled to park outside of the numerous designated spaces. None of the cars pictured were operated by handicapped patrons. May 2022 update Dog part of park reasonably maintained. Some dog owners still let their pets run around the general play area, which is clearly posted for on-leash only... appropriate as kids play in the grass and picnic there. I love dogs, but they need to be properly restrained in public areas.

Lovely small dog park with nice people. There is a big dog area too, we just happen to have small ones. The grass could be a bit better tended in winter, and lighting/more seating/some shade would be greatly appreciated. Still, very glad to have this venue available to the public in Yucca Valley!

The view is great! They have a dog park and also a small playground. The people there were friendly. I joined a local disc golf club sometimes we throw discs out there. It should be a permanent spot there's so much more this park has to offer! I saw no homeless people so that is a super plus!

There are separate small and large dog areas. The small dog area regulars are clique-y and tend to have a rather entitled attitude.

The views are spectacular. 😀

Unfortunately, the dog parks closed June 20th to the end of October (2023) for renovations.

It seems no one who signed off on the renovations had a clue what a dog park should be. The dogs' areas are pretty, but it was a showcase renovation, not one practical to needs.

Here it is, mid-December, and still, there are no water stations.

The picnic tables in both areas were placed right inside the gates - so if people want to make use of them, they must deal with the excitement of every dog that comes through the gates.

In the small dog area, they put a concrete walkway all the way around the peripheral interior: • firstly, dogs from both sides love running up and down the inner fence with each other. This will lead to over-worn pads on their feet. • secondly, this is high desert - the concrete will be too hot in the summer.

In the large dog area, not only is the picnic table by the gate, but the agility area is between the picnic table and the main grassy area. The agility area should have been located around 'the corner' to the left where there is no through traffic.

Again, It seems no one who signed off on the renovations had a clue what a dog park should be.

They were just showcase renovations, incredibly impractical.

As a member of my local dog park committee for nearly two years in my previous home of Sacramento, I simply can not recommend...

There is both a children's playground and 2 dog parks for big and little dogs. The grounds crew does a really good job on the bathrooms and the children's playground. Typically, the dog park receive state and County funds to build and the town has put no effort towards maintaining it. The grass is gone there is deep holes dug by the dogs and the surface is very uneven. The town should be ashamed since it's the only dog park in the town of Yucca Valley. Because of the deplorable condition especially the large dog park, people go to the Regional Park, Brehm Park and...
