The trail was well maintained with no real obstacles or rough terrain. There’s very little shade for the majority of the trail and MANY ant hills, so watch out! The time we went, we didn’t see too much wildlife besides a Downy Woodpecker and lots of different butterflies, however, we could hear a decent amount of birdsong. I only completed the Wetlands Trail which ends at a slope to the river. You can continue on into Dead River if you want which was a nice hike (although it was closed towards the end and we couldn’t complete it as of 2 weeks). Sadly, there were no benches to rest except for two on the Dead River...

King fort trail muddy after leaving Dead River Road. Two large muddy stretches. Can be walked around. 15 mile ride round trip from camp site in state park. 2.5 hours including picnic at John B Sargent park. Great ride.

Wetlands trail good all the way thru. Lot of mosquitos. Should have brought spray. 9 mile ride from camp site. Rode back on Dead River Road to old Fort King trail and back to camp...
