Only 30 miles away from Buenos Aires by many ferries daily (you must book your ticket) and only 100 miles away from Montevideo, Uruguay's capital. A good base to rent a car and visit Uruguay's capital and, further east, the eastern coast like Punta del Este resort and many more small peaceful seaside town with nice beaches. It was horrible experience trying to get a trip, all companies from Buenos Aires were giving wrong information online and at the port where ferries depart crowded lines and lines for customs on the way to Uruguay and the way back. The place is historical but nothing spectacular just a colonial and the tiniest of all, only tourist trap shops only tourist trap restaurants they said they take card and the they scam you and say you need to go to the cashpoint cause the machine doesn't work...
