Fundación Pablo Atchugarry — Attraction in Maldonado

This place is a must go if you’re around Punta del Este. The landscape is absolutely beautiful, with heaps of nature, trees, lakes, birds and capybaras. You can easily walk around the place as it’s marked and with tracks very well look after, or there’s also an option to take a mini bus tour.

The museum has masterpieces from the artist Pablo Atchugarry and some other pieces from different artists from all over the world. There’s also a cinema downstairs (which unfortunately was under repair the day that I went there). Lastly but not least, there’s a café where you can have a warm drink while you enjoy the view.

... El SITIO es excelente, pero HE NOTADO que al agrandarse la Fundación Pablo Atchugarry, se ja de haber necesitado agregar personal que por el efecto de las comparaciones NO DENOTA PROFESIONALISMO. Lo que más me dolió pasó porque --por primera vez desde los siete años que la frecuento-- parecía que NI EL MISMO SEÑOR PABLO ATCHUGARRY era titular real sino que también él no se sentía con la afabilidad de siempre para con TODOS LOS PÚBLICOS SIN OTRA DISTINCIÓN QUE NO SEAN LAS DE LOS TALENTOS Y/O VIRTUDES, tal como la Constitución enuncia como Derecho, Deber y Garantía en su Parte Dogmática, artículo 8°. Desde que cuento con doble ciudadanía tanto en un Estado 100% Democrático, sin otro Soberano que el Pueblo llano como el Uruguay tan orgánico, como también en un País de fuerte rémora Monárquica como la España tan disgregada y hasta anomizada, ME PARECE PRINCIPAL que los Pueblos puedan tolerar pero acatar normas de la Territorialidad en que está fijada su Residencia con ánimo de Permanencia. La precedente digresión no lo es tanto, porque si hubiese sido la Inauguración de un Novísimo Pabellón aunque con detalles inconclusos DE TONO CLASISTA POR ESTRATIFICACIONES y me hallase en España no me hubiese detonado tanto con público VERY IMPORTANT PERSONS que no lo son salvo que hubiésemos estado en una Avant Premiere bajo protocolar régimen. Pero que en Uruguay no hubiese trato paritario y puertas comunes de acceso y visita conjunta de lo que se inauguraba y otros detalles... eso que pasados unos días puedo seguir sosteniendo luego de haber sido un visitante cada vez que alguien que llegaba incluso viviendo en la zona y no había visitado dicho parque de unas 45 hectáreas, los trasladaba hasta allí. A partir de este neo tenor ni aristocrático (porque muchos Vip no serían los más capaces en sus roles sociales, más lo entiendo que los modelos van torciendo a la Ideología de la Orientalidad, por lo que AL SITIO OTÓRGOLE TRES EN TRES ESTRELLAS PERO LAS NIEGO POR LA CAÍDA DE LO HUMANAMENTE VIVIDO ALLÍ EL PASADO DÍA SÁBADO 8 DE ENERO DEL...

Amazing place. The outside space is big and full of experiences to be explored. From sculptures and an upcoming labyrinth plus a lovely chapel and an open auditorium, to just enjoying the landscape or the trees and the wildlife (look for the local fauna, including Carpinchos). And the inside rooms with rotating artists and world-class expositions. Wow, just wow. Hugely recommended. Oh... did I mention that access and activities are totally free for everyone?
