(4.5 stars) This oneās a corker! Champagne Beach is world-renowned for its white, soft sand and calm blue waters. It's often voted one of the best beaches in the world, and you'll see why. The beach gets its name from the volcanic gases that come up through the sand at the shoreline to make it feel and look like champagne under your feet. But weāre here for the ridiculous beauty of the whole package, plus some quality snorkelling to be had around the bommies offshore.
Thereās shady spots to sit and take in the view, plus a couple of simple thatched beach hut restaurant/bars serving the island basics. Entry to the whole site is via a 1,000VT payment to the custom owners. So worth every Vatu!

We took a tour to Champagne Beach with a local taxi driver, much cheaper than booking the tour on the cruise ship. Champagne Beach is a very stunning beach, probably one of the best beaches i have been to, great for snorkelling. There is an admission fee payable to the local people, cost us $75 au, for 5 of us.Ā Its about an hours drive one way from the cruise ship terminal.Ā I would love to return to this Island one day and spend more time there, so much to see and do and the locals are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can see why this is voted one of the best beaches in the world. Incredible water colour - and very warm. Recommend doing this as part of the highlights tour or even stay at the bungalows to have the place to yourself. The reefs around the shoreline are teeming with fish. Join in with the locals jumping off the wharf. There was a lovely lady selling clothes and trinkets while we were there - and the bar has cold drinks. Toilets, shade, bar, food - this quiet little area of the island...
