This experience gave me a much deeper appreciation for Vanuatu — its culture, people, and way of life. The chief was witty, warm, and generous with his knowledge. He shared their history, cooking methods, how they hunt and fish, and how they use plants as medicine. He welcomed all our questions, and his stories were fascinating.
