Donovan Vulcano Hike — Attraction in Tanna

Highly recommend the hike and camping experience. The money is so reasonable charged, and very transparent, and everything goes to the village.

We met with the locals at their village near hot spring at 2pm, then arrived at volcano by 5pm. We waited till its getting dark and headed back at 8pm since we were living near by their village. You can also ask for camping overnight at volcano, they will offer tents and everything. The boys took care of us all the way, so sweet and friendly. They offered us coconuts and papayas, grilled bananas along the hike.

This village and their hiking experience deserves way more attention and tourism than just paying for expensive tickets of the front entrance. Please don’t hesitate to contact them for the most authentic...

We hiked from port resolution to the base of the volcano with Donovan and camped a short distance from the volcano overnight before hiking back the next morning. The entire experience was amazing and Donovan is a fantastic guide and person. The hike was filled with stops to have some fun and try the local fruit and all the while Donovan educated us on the local way of living. All the money goes to a great cause and you get a very authentic experience. Would highly recommend over a regular volcano tour via car. Amazing experience! Hiked from Port Resolution to the base of the volcano, stopping to pick some coconuts and food for the campfire that night. Went up the volcano once in the evening, and again the next morning after camping Then hiked back with some stops for vine swinging, collecting more fresh fruits and climbing a few Banyan trees.
