Really beautiful place with a picturesque view of Da Nang. It’s hard to miss the majestic Lady Buddha from the city. The Lady Buddha is a 67m high statue that represents a female Buddha. The statue is located on the Linh Ung Pagoda complex. It is a beautiful complex on the Son Tra Peninsula with the Linh Ung Pagoda, the Lady Buddha, a beautiful garden with huge bonsai, with different levels and a beautiful view of Da Nang. There are free-roaming monkeys on the complex but they are not at all interested in us humans. A highlight and a "must visit" in Da Nang. I can see the Lady Buddha from Danang Beach. We visited Lady Buddha and the surrounding area during a morning tour. It is very nice to look at, and you can walk there. But I would really recommend to drive to this sight independently and visit, because then you also have correspondingly more time to look at everything in peace and walk. Danang's hidden jewel, Chùa LinhỨng, is an unforgettable attraction on your Danang Trips. Euphoria is an important site of Vietnamese Buddhism, where various Buddhist heritage and beautiful natural landscapes combine. The temple is located within a 10-minute drive from the city centre of Danang. One of the most notable features of the brand is the 67-metre-high duty noise sniper. This is one of the biggest illusions in Vietnam, and it's impressive as it stands facing the sea. Right from the airport we were taken to this magnificent monument which was on top of a hill overlooking Da Nang. Even though there were a lot of people, the place was huge and did not seem crowded. Enjoyed the well manicured bonsai plants. The whole place is so neat and well maintained. You can watch the sunset from here. Since cars go right to the top there is very...
Read moreAlright, folks, gather 'round because I've got something really cool to tell you about the Lady Buddha statue in Danang.
This isn’t just any statue – it’s the tallest Buddha statue in Vietnam, towering at a whopping 67 meters (that's about 220 feet for those of us not on the metric system). It's like if the Statue of Liberty decided to swap her torch for a lotus flower.
Perched on the Son Tra Peninsula, this majestic statue looks out over the sea, almost like it's keeping an eye on the fishermen and blessing their boats. The Lady Buddha, or the Bodhisattva of Mercy, is a symbol of protection and peace, and you can really feel that calm vibe when you're there.
Now, here's a fun fact: inside the statue, there are 17 floors, each housing 21 Buddha statues with varying poses, and visitors can actually climb up and check out the different levels. Talk about a spiritual workout! Plus, the views from up there are absolutely breathtaking. You get this incredible panoramic view of Danang city and the coastline.
Oh, and did I mention the best part for all you bike enthusiasts? The bike parking is free! So, you can ride up there without worrying about parking fees. Just one more reason to make the trip.
One quick PSA: Please, stop feeding the monkeys. They're cute, but we need to keep them wild and healthy. Trust me, they’ll find plenty to eat without our help.
So, if you’re in Danang, a visit to the Lady Buddha isn’t just a chance to see an impressive piece of art; it’s an opportunity to soak in some culture, enjoy spectacular views, and maybe even find a bit of inner peace. It’s a...
Read moreA humbling and tremendously solemn experience. Riding my motorbike along the Da Nang boardwalk to the north east slowly leaving town and the hum of vehicles and city sounds, you pass the fisherman area of the beach and are transformed fro the bustling buzz of the city to the luscious and serene mountains. You slowly climb the hill and start to pass monkeys, sea views and city views until the Lady Buddha starts to make her presence felt around every turn. Rising high above the sea and overlooking this beautiful part of this magical country, the temples, statues, gates and all that is this magnificent sight start to make their presence felt with calming and meditative vibes and energy. The site itself is a half day visit to fully appreciate all the detail and beauty that is available to enjoy. Dress respectfully and wear sandles if possible to aid in the entrance and exit of the interior of the various temples and buildings. Be prepared for encounters with the Son Tra (Monkey Mountain) indigenous inhabitants, the funny and at times pushy monkeys of Monkey Mountain. Do not feed them and keep a distance as they have been known to take what is not theirs and run away. Take in the scene and splendor at the rich cultural history that is Tượng Quan Thế Âm Bồ Tát. I highly recommend a full day on Son Tra mountain to enjoy this site as well as to enjoy the numerous beaches and look outs available to enjoy. Also, the site is...
