My girlfriend and I came to Vietnam from Chicago with Hot Springs Park being one of the top draws on our list. While I can't say we were completely disappointed, we weren't extremely impressed.

Since we came from the city, we took an Uber and it cost about 325,000 VND. We paid 450,000 VND (about $20) for each ticket into the park and it included access to everything. I think the price was reasonable for entry, but you have to apparently rent towels. (We were never told about this or saw it advertised anywhere.) The only time we were given towels, was in the Japanese baths and you can't take them with you. So, be prepared to bring your own.

Another thing you should be prepared for, is not having staff that understands English. We are, after all, in Vietnam but it seems that the staff doesn't know basic terms that have to do with the park, such as "towel" and "restaurant".

One of the few things that keeps me from giving this place 5 stars, is that I was completely disrespected by a staff member. I've been in Vietnam for 2 weeks, so far. The entire time, everyone has been very friendly. The park has employees driving guests around in golf carts and after approaching one of the drivers to ask to be taken to another part, he refused to put his phone down and completely ignored me as if I wasn't even standing there. Didn't make a sound, didn't even look up. Some of the other staff seemed to be more interested in their phones than being at work, too.

Unfortunately, we couldn't really enjoy the water park, as the water was too cold. We wanted to use the lazy river, but nobody seemed interested in showing us where it even started.

The hot springs was small, but nice. The water was pretty warm. The water in the jacuzzi pool was freezing. I've never been in a cold jacuzzi before, so we had to move on. A river nearby had a lot of trash, so that was a bit of a turn-off.

The mud baths were nice. First they put you in a jacuzzi-type pool (with warm water) and then bring you to your bath tub. When you're done, you shower. Again, no towels.

The Japanese baths were interesting. Thankfully, the park was not busy because this was a new experience for me. You have 3 different temperature baths choose from (basically wading pools) where you strip down naked and get in to with everyone else and there's both a men and women's sides. I've never been to a nude beach and am not the type to enjoy a bath with other naked men, so lucky for me, I was the only one there.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. I really wish I'd have kept my phone on me to take more pics, but left it in the locker. I'm not sure if I want to go back, but if I do, it'll have to be on an extremely hot day, with my own towels and to...

I'd like to give the following advices to visitors:

  1. Have a good breakfast before going or take some snacks with you. If you think there is a place where you can take a cup of coffee with croissant before jumping into the pool - you will be disappointed. A la carte restaurant opens after 15:30. Before this time you have only limited choice between hotpot\bbq set or soda + popcorn or something like this.
  2. Take a slippers and a towel with you. There are shared slippers there, but the count is limited and, in fact, "shared slippers" sounds not very hygienic, isn't it?
  3. Check information and map beforehand - place itself is huge and quite unclear. Some water slides opens in some explicit hours and there is no clear information about it. There are some maps on the territory, but it seems like rotated randomly. Besides this place is very noisy and crowded, so, pretty good chances you will be disoriented first time.
  4. Take your own water-proof case for the phone and the cash. It's is possible to lock everything in the locker, but most probably you will want to have your phone and money with you.

About the place itself. Pros: lovely road went there free parking for bikes very friendly stuff very cool, nice and secluded dino park some water slides are cool, I also liked "pool with waves" territory is huge, takes several hours just to explore price for entry ticket and price for everything inside seems quite reasonable I really liked kayaks trail there BBQ is very full-packed and tasty in fact

Cons: extreamly overcrowded - this place is an introvert's hell there is no clear organisation: quite unclear where to go, how to find a specific place and what's going on there lockers\changing room is like a pure chaos - everybody screaming, pushing, in men's room some little girls undressing who knows why, etc there is no single bench in changing room (very inconvenient) locker box itself very tiny stuff speak english hardly lack of just a simple restaurants. You can't just come, order some food and relax - you will be forced to get into self-cooking options (hotpots, bbq) or starving until 15:30 bird park is not very interesting: basically only one couple of parrots you can pet and a lot of pigeons (and maybe some local birds on distance)

Overall experience: it's actually a very nice place, but overcrowded and unclear for english speaking visitors who...

A great way to spend a day enjoying the activities and luxuries this water park brings. For families, there's pools and water slides to keep kids entertained. The hot spa activities include a thermal pool with different sections from luke warm to uncomfortably hot, a foot bath area, a gender separated onsen, steam and sauna room as well as a warm and not-hot-enough salt sauna. There's also pay-extra massages/spa treatments available that is performed in a communal room but is still nice to do and not too overpriced.

If you're into water activities, relaxing in a pool, hot springs, and saunas/steam rooms you can easily spend the day here. The venue, though, does feel like a mix of well used and maintained areas through to parts of the complex nearly abandoned and falling apart.

A bit different from the water park is a dinosaur park, that we passed briefly whilst on the complementary buggy service, and a temple at the top. Note that you must be suitably dressed to go to the temple meaning no swimming gear, and you need to cover your shoulders and knees.

Just remember to bring your own towels and flip flops/slippers. Towels and robes cost extra to hire (unless you get them from the paid massage room) and there's otherwise shared hard plastic slippers available near the thermal pool area. If for some reason you didn't bring any swimming gear, they do sell some too. There's locker / shower rooms closer to the entrance, but you'll need to walk back and forth if you leave things in the locker that you may need during the day.

There's a restaurant there as well as the odd food vendor selling things like cup noodles and ice creams which we didn't try. We brought out own banh mi in and had...
