Banh It Tower is one of the ancient and unique Champa architectural relics, located about 20km northwest of Quy Nhon city. This place was built around the late 11th and early 12th centuries by the Cham people, with the original name Silver Tower or Yang Mtian.
The name Banh It Tower comes from the tower's shape, like Banh It - a traditional dish of Binh Dinh people. The tower is also known as Ba Di Bridge tower, because it is located near Ba Di bridge, an ancient bridge dating back to the French colonial period.
Banh It Tower is a cluster of 4 different towers, with the main tower being 22m tall. This is the place to worship Hindu gods, such as Shiva, Vishnu, Ganesha and organize religious rituals of the Cham people. The tower was recognized as a National Artistic Architectural Monument in 1982, and was included in the list of 1,001 must-visit architectural works in the lifetime of a group of British authors.
