Yes, it’s worth visiting. Amazing waterfall. I couldn’t find clear instructions about it so I will write one for you:
❌ You will not be able to get there by yourself. People at the entrance will not allow you, only with a guide. And by the way after visiting K50 I wouldn’t drive there by myself. The road from the entrance is okay at first, but then it’s steep and narrow, so the guide that will drive you is a must.
⏱️ I recommend to get there at 8:00 in the morning. At this time there will be more guides. The tour itself may take several hours or the whole day as there are different angels to watch the waterfall. The way back was at 2pm or 3:30pm. So if you finish at 2:30pm you need to wait an hour until your driver comes back from the entrance.
💰Entrance: 100k per person. Guide: 200k for a group. Transportation from the entrance to the waterfall and back is 400k per person.
🏠 The nearest place for a sleep over I found near the Măng Đen town. It’s a 1h drive from the waterfall. You can find homestays on Booking. And you can find some market and cafes in Măng Đen as well. I slept there for 2 nights. First after the road to this region, and the second - so I don’t have to drive back at night.
📱 Near waterfall there will be no cellular network, so download an offline map and be ready.
🥶 It can be cold in this region at night because it’s mountains. So prepare in advance.
🏊🏻♂️ It’s possible to swim there, so you can bring your swimsuit.
P.s. workers told me that you need to somehow book tickets in advance. But I couldn’t find any information about their company. We just came and asked...
Read moreIt’s a day trekking in and out. Around 7km at the end of the road for car. If you don’t wanna trek, you can hire a motorcyclist to drive you back & forth. At the end of the motorcycle road, you will have to walk around 700m to go to the waterfall.
It’s all worth it to see this beautiful creation by Mother nature.
We trekked on the way there, and hired the motorcycle team to drive us back. My legs are all sore in the next morning. But love the trek tho. It’s very chill. And to me walking in the forest amongst the trees is an incredible moment.
We were warned that there were a lot of leeches, and we used a lot of remedies from mosquitoes pray to lemongrass ailment, and other Thai & Vietnamese oilmen to prevent them. But seeing them just makes me all goosebumps. Our tourguide got bitten in the ankle. But he’s got used to it. The trekking path is on concrete, but that there are quite steep hills at towards the end....
Read moreWow! What an experience. We took the motorbike transfer (takes between 30-60 mins depending on conditions) through the muddy tracks and then hiked. Be aware the trip is not for the feint hearted - you need to be the adventurous type, and have reasonable fitness!! It was amazing though - great to get off the well beaten tourist track. Current costs were $400k pp for a bike, $100k pp for a national park ticket, and $500k per guide to walk you through to the waterfall. It was amazing. We definitely don’t recommend staying at the basic accomodation at the national park (it was only $250k per room per night and it means super close access… but there are no food/shop services out there (lucky we had instant noodles with us for dinner) and it was pretty dodgy! Rock hard beds and the accomodation all round was pretty dirty). Highly recommend a K50...
