We travel a considerable distance to see the monkeys Paying a considerable amount to be driven there Only to be sent off without any warning on a hiking trail that went for 10km through the jungle we climbed up and down the treacherous terrain At one stage, we thought we may have got lost Worst still, there was no internet reception - it was also a stinking hot day - we adventurely made it back some 3 hours later -we wore soaking wet from the sweat and bit alive by the bugs Upon our return, it turned out the monkey sanctuary was only 300 meters away from our starting point We were absolutely exhausted 😩 Still, we were determined to see the monkeys, which we had to pay a second fee on When we adventurely got to see them, it was from quite some distance, away from where we could see them and they were in cages honestly a Beautiful as the monkeys 🐒 are Even if we hadn't been led up the garden path, I would find it hard to recommend visiting this sanctuary On top of this, as it turned out we weren't the only tourists directed on this...
Read moreVery informative. You buy tickets for either the Primate Rescue Center, the Turtle Conservation Center and the Carnivore & Pangolin Conservation Center at the entrance, then there is about a 400 m walk to the actual centers. Even though we were the only English-speaking visitors among a large number of Vietnamese tourists, the guide in the Primate Center always explained the monkeys to us in English, and the tour did not feel rushed. At the Turtle Center, we were practically alone and had our own guide, which also took time to explain the different turtles and tortoises. We then went on about 50m to the Carnivore & Pangolin Center, but there was no guide there, and we would have needed to call someone from the park entrance, which we skipped because we had spent a lot of time already. All in all, it was a good experience, and it gets explained very well how these centers are trying to preserve animal life. A private driver from Tam Coc was about 1.115.000 VND (including a stop at the...
Read moreAmazing facility that is doing wonderful things to help the primates. We showed up on a whim and we were able to get a tour on the spot which was included in the park price. The tour was very informative, our guide was wonderful, and the primates are extremely beautiful. I really support the facility's work as they are releasing primates into the wild.
We had a bit of difficulty finding it - go to the Cuc Phuong park entrance and pay there. Take a left once you're in the park and walk just a bit past the locked gates and you will find the entrance. It is well worth it. I saw some reviews mentioning the length of the tour. It is fairly short - but I think it is a good thing as you get to see the animals but also give them space. You are touring a rescue facility and not a zoo, which I appreciated. The staff are passionate and contributing positively to animal welfare in the world. Thank you Endangered...
